GGinkgo biloba is a tree species that is native to China but is now cultivated and widely distributed in various parts of the world. It is one of the oldest living tree species, dating back more than 270 million years. Ginkgo biloba is also known as Maidenhair tree and has been used for its medicinal properties for thousands of years. Its leaves and extracts are used as supplements to improve cognitive function, treat anxiety, depression, and support cardiovascular health. The active components of ginkgo biloba include flavonoids and terpenoids, which are believed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Ginkgo is sold as a supplement for memory support for brain health but has many more benefits! It contains high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, which are compounds known for their strong antioxidant effects. These are antioxidants that cancel out free radicals, molecules that can damage cells. They form when you exercise and when your body uses food for energy.
