Our Sleepy Time Extract is a combination of 3 nervine herbs. They help balance out neurotransmitters, help stress hormones, relax muscles, relieve pain, anxiety and irritation. Organic Valerian Root – is the top herb for sleep and in most formulas sold on the market. It sedates the nervous system and relaxes muscles, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. Valerian increases the amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. As a neurotransmitter, GABA inhibits unwanted nervous system activity. Increased levels of the GABA in the brain lead to falling asleep faster and experience better sleep. Valeric acid has anti-anxiety properties and as a result can reduce both the severity and frequency of hot flashes with women going through menopause. Hot flashes cause sweating, rapid heartbeat, and sudden warmth that some find uncomfortable. Valerian root is also helpful in treating PMS symptoms.
